executable Internet VS extended Internet

X Internet은 executable Internet과 extended Internet의 X를 딴 것으로 포레스터 리서치는 이 두 가지를 아래와 같이 정의 내리고 있다.

1.executable Internet is: Intelligent applications that execute code near the user to create rich, engaging conversations via the Net.

2.extended Internet is: Internet devices and applications that sense, analyze, and control the real world.

위의 개념은 2001년 이후에 소개되었는데 현재의 기술로 보면 다음과 같이 풀이할 수 있을 것 같다.
executable Internet은 보다 다이나믹한 인터넷 서비스로 rich client 기술을 통해 보다 클라이언트에서 보다 강한 서비스를 제공하는 개념을 extended Internet 은 단순한 PC 등을 포함해 RFID 등 인터넷 접속가능한 칩 등이 포함된 모든 디바이스가 연결된 환경을 말한다. 다양한 디바이스들에 rich client로 올라가는 서비스가 가능해야 할 것으로 예상한다.
